Happy New Year and welcome to 2018, the best year of your life yet.
I’m not sure how each of you may have ended 2017 or started this year, but I hope wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you are happy & safe and doing your best in whatever areas you choose.
I have been spending the beginning days of this year, setting my intention and tone for everything that will follow and I came here today to get started. Funnily enough, some pieces of a project about Sun Tzu that I had been working on had been published – don’t you love computer gremlins? *lol* So if you noticed them and see they are now gone, that was me now, removing them intentionally, but they will be back when I am finished with the project.
What I want to do is share with you one of my personal goals for this year. One of the questions I get asked most frequently from clients, my peers etc., is how do I take care of myself? How do I not burnout from the work that I do? I think that is a valid question, especially from my clients, as if I don’t take care of myself, how can I be there consistently for them? How can I be reliable and credible if I am not walking the talk?
To that end, one of the biggest things in my life that I always work on is consistency with my balance and self care. I believe that is something to focus on for a life time for all of us, but for purposes of this post, what I am going to do is challenge you do to this along with me this year.
One thing I have done for myself every year for the past few, is started reading “The Book of Awakening” by Mark Nepo. Today I have decided that in an effort to be consistent, while adding inspiration, every day I will post his daily message here in my blog for you to read.
That doesn’t mean I won’t post anything else, but what it does mean, is that I will post at least once a day. I will be copying verbatim so you can read it for yourself. This isn’t about me taking credit for his work, I just want to share it with you and exercise my consistency muscles by doing something I believe in. I hope you join in by reading daily, to grow and exercise your consistency muscles too.
So for the next little bit I will be getting caught up, so you may see the first 12 days of the month in two days, but once I am caught up, it should slow down. As always I welcome your thoughts and comments.
I hope you enjoy Mark and his inspiration as much as I do and a special thank you to Mark for everything you do to inspire all of us.
